Our Story
We have always searched for different ways to help our son, who was diagnosed with autism, flourish and grow. We had him in every traditional, medical, and behavioral therapy available in our area since he was 15 months old. We followed every suggestion and worked diligently to improve his quality of life; however, we never saw the outcomes we hoped to achieve.
When he was 7 years old, I stumbled across primitive reflex integration therapy. I did not understand how it would help him, but knew I had to investigate it further. After researching many different methods of reflex integration to identify which one we thought was best, we took him to a Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration (MNRI) specialist. Although we were skeptical and it was a large commitment, we followed through and received the therapy.
The significance that this therapy had for our son was nothing short of remarkable. One round of intensive therapy had surpassed any amount of traditional therapy we completed over the course of 6 years. He allowed interaction from his siblings, including sensitives with touch and sound. His auditory sensitivities were almost non-existent. His previously limited speech had more purpose and required less effort.
Numerous positive changes had occurred so quickly, but above all else he was happy in many environments. We were able to do more as a family, go to a variety of places, and enjoy activities in previously difficult settings. It truly has been an amazing journey. It changed our life just as much as his. Our only regret is that we wished we had found it sooner but regardless, we hold much gratitude.
